FAQs

  • Can we come with our children? Although we have nothing against children, The Good Life Weekend is a child free zone! We may run a child friendly Good Life Weekend in the future so if you love our concept and would be interested in this option please do get in touch so that we can monitor demand and set it up!
  • Do I have to do all of the activities? No, of course not.   It’s your weekend and you can join in the parts that most appeal to you. There is no obligation to take part, you might prefer to just relax, sleep and enjoy the house, spectacular countryside and food and drink that is on offer.
  • Do I have to share a room? No, we understand that if you come alone you may prefer to enjoy a luxurious room to yourself. There is a single person occupancy supplement applicable but for this we can guarantee you a plush double room with your own bathroom.
  • Can I come on my own? Yes, but please let us know if you are prepared to share a room. Pricing is based on two people sharing. People coming alone can be guaranteed their own bed in a double room. If you would rather have your own room see above.
  • Do you cater for group bookings? Yes, please contact us with your requirements for specific pricing and further information.
  • Can you organise airport transfers? Transfers from Vic train station are included in the price. An airport transfer can be organised but will have an associated extra cost. Please get in touch if you need help organising your travel requirements and we will happily assist your journey planning.
  • Can I pay in instalments? Please contact us directly to set up a payment plan that suits you. A minimum first non refundable payment of £100 is required but after that we can be flexible. All monies must be paid prior to attending the weekend.
  • I have a specific food intolerance, do you cater for that? Yes, just let us know what it is and we will ensure you are properly and deliciously catered for!
  • Can I cancel? Yes, please see our cancellation policy. 2 months prior to the start of the weekend you can cancel and get a refund minus a £100 deposit/admin fee. After this time, we are still happy to give a refund if we can fill the place. Failing that, we cannot offer a refund.
  • Can I have an invoice? Of course, just mail us the details and we will ping one over to you.

suky“I had such a good time at the Good Life weekend. I didn’t know anybody when I arrived, but I felt immediately welcome, and I think what made the whole thing so special was that I   felt part of the gang, and the atmosphere was so relaxed and friendly.

I don’t know if I can choose one thing I liked more than anything else – it was a combination of all the little things put together over the weekend. One thing at a time: the food was homemade, healthy and delicious. And plentiful!

The exercise was a good mix of technique and hard work (enough to justify eating loads, luckily); the house was fantastically comfortable and warm, with a charm straight out of a mountain fairy tale.

Even the bit of rain didn’t spoil anything. And then the little extra touches, like the massage and the wine and cheese tasting, were fantastic.

Everything was arranged to spoil us as much as possible. But it was more like being on holiday with a group of friends than an organised thing, so there was no pressure to all take part – some people didn’t do the boxing class, some of us went for a walk after lunch; some stayed up with a G&T, others had an early night.

To me it also stood out that everything was done to high standards and we were looked after with lots of care – there was no disappointing feeling that you often get from a hotel or restaurant where you’re just another customer and the initial shine turns out to be superficial.

This is definitely what I’d call the Good Life. Count me in for the next one!”  – Suky Taylor, Translator and Writer Barcelona

“One of the best weekends of my life! And I have had a lot of weekends to compare it to. I experienced the best of food, wine, sport, health, nature and most of all, people.
You can look at all the gorgeous pictures but to really understand and appreciate it you need to be there. It’s one of those things that after going you immediately start planning for the next one and thinking of who you want to tell about it so they can come along and enjoy it too.
I went in the spring 2014 and want to go again in 2015 and hope to bring my parents as well because I don't see age as an issue. The GLW is for anyone who wants to share in the good things of life.” - Karen, Barcelona
